This is my first post on this site and I hope my questions are taken with the idea that I am new to owning a 318 , have some mechanical experience and am willing to learn . I have done many searches on the web to secure an answer to this question, " how do I get my 318 to give a good cut" . Let me tell you that I have leveled my deck both side to side and front to back , front riding a bit lower. My draft arms off the mule drive are almost extended all the way to get the front lower. The back hanger is also close to being extended all the way. The problem seems to be that my wheels, to keep the deck from "scalping", are as high as they go but still are touching the ground a bit and roll a little while mowing. I am thinking this is why I do not get a very clean cut . My yard is okay but not totally level. (My JD 108 does a clean job on the yard.) Blades appear sharp and not bent. I have set the the screw adjustment in the back , but once again it appears that the deck is almost all the way on the down stroke from the hydraulics . What the heck am I doing wrong? Once again , I have done some back ground on this , I have read much and am asking for help not anything else. Thank you , I am willing to answer questions or try your suggestions . It troubles me that the wheels are set at their highest setting and they roll when blades are at or about a 3" height. All positive responses are desired. Thanks Dan
