This is a work in progress.
The JD manual says there should be about 0.1 ohms of resistance between the two disconnected outer wires of the voltage regulator. There should be no resistance, open, between either wire and ground, that would be a short to ground. Step 4a says with outer wires disconnected attach an AC voltmeter between the leads and run the engine. There should be 28+ voltage at WOT.
